tänään minna canthin päivänä onkin hyvä hetki esitellä vahän suomalaista väriä. ja käyhän tämä hyvin project spectruminkin teemaan. kehräsin viikonloppuna tämän pienen nöttösen sinistä merinoa ja kertasinkin sen vielä vihreän vaastaavan kanssa. hauskaa ja haasteellista. tiesitkö muuten, että minna canthilla oli lankakauppa?

today is the day of minna canth (1844-1897), a writer and social activist. she is also the first (and only) woman to have a flag day here in finland. so it is good day to present finlands colors, blue and white. and this seems to fit quite well to project spectrum as well.
so i did a little spinning on weekend and managed to get this tiny blue skein. i also plyed it with a green one. spinning is quite a challenge for me but it is fun and every time it is a little bit easier. and one notable thing: minna canth had a yarnstore.

sain syksyllä juulilta värttinän ja merinovillaa. olen aina silloin tällöin kehrännyt hieman lankaa. tosi mukavaa hommaa! ja enää puuttuu vaan kaksi: hieman lisää aikaa ja tosi paljon lisää harjoitusta.

i got a spindle and some merino rovings (is this the word here?) last autumn from juuli. i have tried to spin some yarn. that looks yarn, doesn´t it? this is fun!

all i need is a little more time and a lot of practice.
